Well at least they made it like this NOW. My friend bought a digital copy a day after launch, played for 6 days, then had it revert to “starter” edition in the middle of a multiplayer game we were in. He used a registered and activated pre-paid Visa, and had blizzard say “your bank declined payment”(funny cause prepaid visas dont use your bank account), and then visa said “the payment went through and then was returned afterwards.. we will issue a new prepaid visa for $80. It will take 4-6 weeks to receive it”. So he went and bought a PHYSICAL copy of diablo3, and was just going to use the Visa for something else on the ‘net. a week later Visa emailed him and said in fact it was proccessed/charged and used by blizzard, and they would not re-emburse him for the card.
After multiple 1 hour long calls to blizz support, they keep telling him its a problem on visa end, visa says on blizzards end.. Either way, he got f***ed, and bought the game twice. Blizzard has really gone to far with these systems they have implemented… oh the good ol days: remember being able to “spawn” copies of warcraft/diablo to use just for multiplayer?? those days are gone. Closet thing blizz does now is “free trial” diablo cards… only catch is you cant even f***ing play with the person that gave you to invite.. “Invite your friends to the world of diablo**”
** = means: A WORLD of diablo… not the one you are currently playing in…
