Every week, just at the start of the weekend, we catch up with the WoW Insider staff and ask them, “What are you playing this week?” — otherwise known as: WRUP. Join us to see what we’re up to in and out of game, and catch us in the comments to let us know what you’re playing, too! Diablo III, man. Diablo III. Diablo III Diablo III Diablo III Diablo III, Diablo III. Diablo 3? No, no, no: Diablo III. So, Diablo III — What aRe yoU Playing? This week’s Diablo III: What’s your preferred Diablo III class? Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) I’ll be in the MoP beta, leveling with ease, since most people are D3ing it up right now. In Diablo III, I’ve got a wizard that just finished Act IV. Amazing stuff. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) Diablo III and some Diablo III. And maybe the beta. But mostly Diablo III. I’m playing a demon hunter at the moment because shooting the crap out of things is incredibly entertaining. Basil Berntsen (@outdps) There’s only time for one game in my life, and I’m not switching. I’m playing WoW. Chase Hasbrouck (@alarondruid) (@alaronmonk) Barbarian solo, demon hunter duo with a friend. Maybe I’ll think about that WarcraftWorld game; I hear it’s pretty good. Christian Belt I thought I might finally dig in to a little indie game I’ve had sitting around on my hard drive for some time now. Diablo, I think it’s called? I believe this is the third game in the series, though this is the first I’ve heard of it. I got it free with my World of Warcraft subscription, downloaded it but never played it. I hear there are loots, and demons, and such? I’ll see if there isn’t some kind of wizard class and try this game out. I love supporting the little guys! Dan Desmond (@antigen_) Diablo III Friday. Diablo III Saturday. Diablo III Sunday. I’m playing a monk solo on my first playthrough, then probably joining up with some friends on a jaunt into Nightmare. Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb) Yeah. Diablo III. I’m playing a witch doctor because the combination of pets, sweet targeted AoEs, and crowd control is right up my alley. Plus the witch doctor is just a righteous dude, man. Dawn Moore (@dawnwow) I was playing a monk, but I don’t think it’s quite for me. I think I’ll try a demon hunter or a wizard next. Believe it or not, though, I’ve been playing more MoP beta the past few days since most of my friends couldn’t put in many hours on Diablo ’til this weekend. Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives) I’m giving Diablo III a shot, because I love dungeon crawlers even if I never made it far in Diablo II. I started with a witch doctor but I wasn’t really feeling it, so now I’m trying out a monk and wizard.

Diablo III.

I started with a witch doctor but I wasn’t really feeling it, so now I’m trying out a monk and wizard.

Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen) My last weekend in Boston, so I’m checking things off my Boston bucket list: Newbury Street, Christopher’s, Tealuxe, b.good, Harvard Square, and the South End. When I’m not living it up like a terminally ill patient, I’ll be playing Diablo III, of course. I chose the witch doctor after asking my friend @windkeeper4 what class I should play. No regrets, but I’m totally over the sound of him shooting darts. Enough already.

Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra) It’s the May long weekend over here in Canada-land, so I’m hoping to get some outdoorsy time in. My tendonitis is just too painful right now to play anything for long periods of time, so I’m going for little 30-minute chunks of Diablo III. I will be playing a monk. :>.

Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo) Diablo III, Diablo III, and I’ll be catching up on all my work that I missed for the last three days. Oy. I am playing a barbarian.

Matt Rossi (@MatthewWRossi) MATT SMASH!

Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) I’ll also be playing Diablo III. This is my first game in the series, and I’m really liking it. Currently playing a wizard, and channeling Emperor Palpatine while throwing out chaining Electrocutes and yelling “unlimited power!”

Megan O’Neill (@slowpoker) Demonology beta! Also rebuilding my live WoW UI after a corrupted file borked it. Playing on beta prepared me for default UI raiding, I swear. I have beta and alts to keep me occupied for a while, so I’ve still yet to fully download D3.

Michael Gray (@writegray) I really want to be contrary guy and buck the trend but … Diablo III. I’m wizarding it up with my wife, the monk.

Olivia Grace (@oliviadgrace) I haven’t even downloaded Diablo III. I really do play WoW the vast majority of the time and barely have the time or inclination for other games. I might have a look at it after it’s calmed down a bit, but for now it’s PvPing on the priest and the mage, and a bit of really awful huntering on the Arena Pass!

Robin Torres (@cosmicgeek) Diablo III. Monk solo. Demon hunter with The Spousal Unit’s Barbarian.

Engineers, keep getting excited for Mists of Pandaria, because we’ve just got even more toys to make our favorite profession unequivocally still the best profession. With the recent beta patch, we’ve seen some new datamined recipes for engineering goodies such as Blingtron 4000, a fabulously wealthy robot companion who gives people gifts, and the Depleted-Kyparium Rocket, a new rocket mount built by engineers. The real treat, however, is the Thermal Anvil, a new item that drops a portable anvil and forge at the engineer’s feet. Yes, you read that right — engineers are going to be able to deploy a portable anvil. But wait, there’s more. Did you want to slap some Watergliding Jets on your shoes to make swimming a breeze? What about a brand new Wormhole Generator for the Pandaria continent? Maybe you’ve like to pair a gathering profession with your engineering to make the best use of some brand new Mist-Piercing Goggles? Engineers, Blizzard has heard our call for more fun stuff and it is delivering. I can’t wait to see what’s next. Engineering — best profession! It’s open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft’s next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance.
Earlier this week, a source told IGN Germany that Yager Development, which is presently finishing up Spec Ops: The Line for its June release, had been tapped to develop Dead Island 2. This is not the case, says Guido Eickmeyer, development director with the original game’s publisher, Deep Silver. Dead Island 2 is not in development, at least not yet. “We are neither working with Yager on Dead Island 2 nor do we have any contractual agreement with Yager about any project at this point,” he said. The developer did not rule out working with Yager in the future, saying there is a “legitimate chance” the companies will one day team up. He even went as far as to say a future relationship could be on a project related to the Dead Island franchise. Eickmeyer went on to explain that Deep Silver does not have Dead Island 2 “in concept or production with external partners” and that it is currently considering options for a sequel. Dead Island was developed by Polish shop Techland and shipped in September 2011 to generally positive review scores. The game shipped 3 million copies and welcomed various add-on packs. Speculation about a follow-up sparked in November, when Techland filed a trademark application for Dead World. Though a sequel to Dead Island is currently out of sight, a movie based on the property may see the light of day. Film studio Lionsgate optioned the rights from Deep Silver after the game shipped last year. Development of the Dead Island film will be led by The Mummy producer Sean Daniel and Stefan Sonnenfeld, who did postproduction work on various Pirates of the Caribbean films and X-Men: The Last Stand. For more on Dead Island, check out GameSpot’s review. Source Article from http://www.gamespot.com/news/dead-island-2-not-in-development-report-6377491
