It’s been over 7 years now since the last Incredible Hulk game was released. The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction was first released back in August 2005 in the US, and in September 2005 throughout Europe. Well, I’m sure many of you will be happy to hear that Clover Entertainment are going to be bringing an all new and improved sequel to this game, The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction 2.

This new Hulk game will be available during the first quarter of 2013 (probably around February time), and it will be available on the Xbox 360, the Playstation 3 and the Wii U!

If you have ever played the first version in the series, then you’ll probably remember just how great the free-roaming gameplay was. You can go anywhere, climb anything, jump anywhere, smash anything and even destroy any buildings that take your fancy and the new game is set to carry on in the same way, giving the player the option to free-roam around the city and play how they want to play.

This new game is going to be set a year after The Avengers movie where Bruce and his alter ego (The Hulk) find a new villain, The Leader. The Leader turns out to be an old friend of Bruce’s named Samuel Sterns. Throughout the game you will take Bruce on his journey to stop The Leader, who plans to use The Hulk’s DNA to unleash an army of Gamma creatures on the planet.

As we’re 7 years on from the first The Hulk: Ultimate Destruction game, one would hope that the graphics and over-all gaming engines of the games are much more advanced, and capable of delivering far superior graphics and gameplay. I’m sure that we won’t be disappointed. A lot of the new games I’ve seen coming out for the Wii U look to make brilliant use of the ‘next-gen’ style graphics gracing this console, hopefully this Hulk game is another one of those.

As well as seeing The Incredible Hulk and The Leader in this game, we’re expecting to see Iron Man as well as a number of other characters from The Avengers movie – considering the period the game is set, whether or not these characters will be playable or not is unsure yet. I would have thought that in the multiplayer gaming modes you would at least be able to make use of all of The Avengers characters.

Apparently this game is going to bring us not just the ‘Free Roam’ mode, but also a story mode, following the events of The Incredible Hulk and The Avengers (like I mentioned earlier). So, if you just want to ‘Hulk around’ and have some fun, then you can go on the free roam mode, but if you want to get a bit more involved with the game, then you can by heading over to the story mode.

There’s also going to be an online mode so you can play online with several players in big arenas. We don’t have any word yet on which characters will be playable in this mode, but we certainly post an update as soon as we get some more info about the game!

There isn’t long to go now until this game is released, February 2013 and it will be released in the United States and throughout Europe!
