OK, now I see why Crystal Dynamic and Square Enix have been so weird in regards to this. I’ll bet that when this all started, someone from CD or SE wanted to hold a press conference and say “If you have a problem, here’s the FEMALE lead writer, take it up with her.”
It sounds sexist, but let’s all be honest with ourselves for a moment. If there was a female lead programmer, producer, or director, or if they had told us about Rhianna Pratchett in the first place, things would have been different. People would have seen that same scene, and gushed about Women’s empowerment, that female writers are standing out in a male dominated sector and the ability to over come blah blah blah blah blaahhh. Instead, we got two guys showing off the new trailer, followed by cries of sexism, exploitation, blah blah blah blah blaaahhhhh. And that was before CD released that confusing statement.
Either way, I can’t wait to hear what Pratchett has to say in few hours, if that Comic-Con stage show schedule is right.
